Scene Two
From Southwest pulls Garbin, taking with him the voices, curses and laughter of zattieri that have descended on their Timber boats tied together the entire Brenta, for how long, up to Chioggia, where they entered the lagoon. They contrasted the current rash descending the mountain valleys, they left quietly super low transport between the banks of the plains, now rowing in the lagoon to bring their wealth in the city that, like a dragon with enormous jaws, devouring wood as its main food. The zattieri float on their precious wares, but over the precarious boats also carry other products of the mountain and, sometimes, even people like this who sees a young man boarded Belluno, quick of mind and language and ability to repay the transition with the strength of his powerful arms.
