For Sale in England, a treasure trove of Chinese porcelain

A treasure trove of porcelain Chinese, who was lying on the seabed for more than 100 years after a shipwreck, is having a huge success on sale in Dartington.
The collection consists of porcelain bowls, plates, saucers, jugs, and tea cups are on sale with prices starting from £ 45 to £ 175 per item.
The sale is expected to continue until the end of January.
The porcelain collection was on board the freighter Tek Sing (True Star that means) in 1822 when the ship ran aground on the shoals Belvedere in the South China Sea.
Only 208 of the 1,600 people on board survived - earning the title of the wreck of the Titanic of the East.
A big load of silk and tea has gone down along with the china.
In May 1999, the wreck was discovered by British Salvor and much of the cargo was recovered and then described as the largest cargo of Chinese porcelain ever recovered.
The Tek Sing was a huge ship for its time and weighed over 1,000 tons, but when he departed with its cargo of porcelain was so overloaded that much of the support load had been tied outside of the hull.
On board there were 1,600 Chinese emigrants seeking a new life in the sugar plantations of Java. Disaster struck the ship when the captain decided to take a shortcut through the Gaspar Strait.
